Beloved Dance Family,
We don't know if you've noticed but there are an amazing number of ceremonial dances occurring around the world right now. Within the next few weeks alone there are: the "For the One" Dance getting ready to happen in Norway and in Croatia, the Sun-Moon Dance happening in Tennessee and England, the Star Dance taking place in Tennessee, the Drum Dance happening in North Carolina and Scotland, and other dances as the Corn Harvest Dance, Web of Life Dance, the Hollow Bone Dance and the new Fire Dance, all happening in different parts of the world. There are dances occurring within specific Indigenous cultures now including those with Native American tribes (Cherokee, Navajo, Lakota, etc.), and those within the African, South American, Japanese, Cambodian, Indian, and so many other cultures...all dancing NOW. There are dances for which we don't have all the names or dates or locations. But here is what we do know....
... Something amazing is happening! Every dance has a different purpose, carries a different energy. The common thread is that every dance is about LOVE in one form or another. It is about waking up the part of our collective consciousness that has been sleeping and is ready now to move into a higher state of awareness. Every dance is for the People, all people...the two-leggeds, four-leggeds, the many-leggeds, those that walk, crawl, swim and fly; those for which we have names and those without names; those known and those unknown.
... When we dance we are dancing for all life.
There is purpose as to why the dances are increasing in number and frequency at this particularly time of our history. We're dancing who we are back into our memory... We're dancing that there is only one of us here and that all there is is Love.
So, Dancers, Dance!! Go where your heart calls and your feet take you. Something miraculous is happening in this very moment. Let's SING the truth of it! Let's DANCE the song of it!
Recently I, ( Jeanne), posted the following song onto Facebook which is a good one to close this letter with. It comes from Up With People, the International musical that I had the great honor and privilege of being a part for so many years. Enjoy!
